Arranging Tips: The Basics

Introduction

First of all, I think arranging acapella music is really fun 🙂 and there’s something really special about hearing your own musical ideas take shape and come alive!

Speaking of which…
Nice right 😀

So I hope that you’ll learn to enjoy the process of coming up with your own music 🙂

That being said, before you begin arranging, there’s some basic music theory stuff that I think you’ll need to know. If you haven’t learnt these things yet, please do so before moving further on.

  1. Basic Solfege and Pulsing
  2. Basic Chords

Do note that by basic chords, I mean you know just the normal major and minor chords (no need for fancy min7 or add9 or whatever chords, not yet at least).

As for the Basic Solfege and Pulsing, I think that the content covered in that part of the blog should be enough for you to write basic music.

Once you’re ready, feel free to start exploring!
